The countdown is on....
Well we are only two days away from Dudley Field Trip 2014. This year we are headed up the east coast. I am looking forward to this years trip. I think this one is a little more my speed. I did enjoy last years trip. We saw some really incredible sights and had a lot of fun, but I am very excited to visit New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. Even though we are camping in the Outer Banks, I am so excited. I found this amazing campground right on the water, and they have been posting pictures of the sunset from the campground every night...I CANNOT WAIT!!!
Since the last field trip a lot of things have changed for the Dudley family, so I thought I would give you a quick run down.
July - Daniel got a new teaching/coaching job.
August - Ashley got a new teaching job. This school was right behind my house...NO MORE DRIVING! However, I did have to give up FACS, and now teach middle school math. I was really nervous to begin, but it was great and I loved every second of it.
September, October, and November - We survived another football season! The season was quite successfully and they made it to the playoffs!
December - Daniel got a another new coaching job....he accepted a position as Defensive Coordinator with a brand new high school. He will be able to be a part of the building process and it was a promotion for him.
In December, we also decided to put our house on the market...just to see what would happen.
January, February, and March - We survived the snowy, cold winter. It was quite cold here this winter, but we survived. I ended up having around 8 snow days, and I think Daniel had close to 12.
April - AHHH the life of two teachers, Daniel and I had different spring breaks. My was the week before Easter and his was the week after. For my spring break, Mom and I decided to take a trip to Savannah, GA. Neither of us had ever been, even though we vacation an hour away every year. We spent a day at Tybee Island, fell in love with Macroons, and took a ghost tour in a hearse. For Daniel's spring break him and his dad went out west. They visited Arches National Park, Zion National Park, Bryce Cayon National Park, and the Grand Canyon.
May - Where do I even begin with the month of May. It has been quite a whirlwind. The very first day of May we received an offer on our house!! Closing was scheduled for June 1st. So we carried on with the rest of the month, Daniel's classes took the End of Course Exams and my classes took their TCAP tests. I was scheduled to get out of school on May 23, but Daniel didn't get out until June 3rd. We realized later that June 1st was a Sunday and no one is going to close on a house on Sunday. I assumed we would push the closing date to June 2nd. Which would have been perfect, since Daniel was still in school we could have had two whole days that weekend before to move out of our house. Unfortunately, the scheduled closing for Friday May 30th, which meant I had to be out of my house by 10am that day. OH and did I mention we didn't/don't have a new house. Luckily I was out of school that week of the move. I was able to pack things up during the day and we moved in the evening when Daniel got home from work. However, we did not/ have not found a new house yet. So we are currently homeless, living in the upstairs of my moms house. Thank Goodness for my wonderful mom!
And that is the brief run down, of the last year, in the life of the Dudley's. Which leads us to June and the start of Dudley Field Trip 2014. I should have better cell service this year and should be able to update frequently. Hope you enjoy reading about our journey.
