DFT19 - Vermont
For the last two days we have been exploring Vermont. The drive from Lake George to Burlington was really nice and we saw lots of fun things that we would love to come back explore.
HEY Viv...we drove through this town. Do you think they use Ticonderoga Pencils in Ticondergoa #teacherjokes.
Burlington was a neat town. I'll be honest when I say I think it would be more fun without a toddler. Its just not very toddler friendly...in the way that there isn't whole lot of stuff that would be of interest or exciting to a toddler. But it was nice.
We explored Church Street Marketplace. Our campground was really neat and nice. It is run by the Burlington Parks and Rec. department and is right on Lake Champlain. So we spent about our hour playing on the beach and in the water. EG loved swimming. We did visit Lake Champlain Chocolates and I got the best candy bar I have ever had in my entire life. No pictures of it because I devoured it. And for dinner we ate at American Flatbread. The flatbread pizzas were fantastic, but I had a House Made Maple Lemonade to drink and it was AMAZING! I'm going to figure out how to recreate it!
Oh camping beside us was a couple and their two year old little boy. Interestingly they are both teachers in Colorado. And they take a trip every year to visit National Parks. They are a had of us though. At the end of their trip they will have now been to all the lower 48 states. He told us that it took them 9 years to get it done. We still have a ways to go.
Today we visited the Vermont Teddy Bear factory for a tour and then we built EG her own bear. It is a really great company and the bears are awesome. After learning about Teddy Bears we drove to Waterbury to visit the Ben and Jerry's factory. This might have been the most exciting part of our whole trip ( just wait till you see the ice cream count for today). We also had lunch at a Cider Mill and found a Sugar House to taste Maple Syrup. We def. bought an entire gallon of Maple Syrup because it might be the best thing I have ever tasted.
Tomorrow we a spending the day in White National Forest in New Hampshire. And we will pick WoWo up from the airport in Portland at midnight!
Ice Cream Count: 6 - we ate ice cream 3 times at Ben and Jerry's
I also told Daniel I was going to start a section called How Many Times Can We Go to TARGET? Its currently standing at 2.
Side Note: I've said it before but I'll remind everyone 1) I am not an English teacher...it is actually my least favorite subject. 2) It is really hard to write about our trip in campground where the wifi is terrible, or in the car so I don't get eat by mosquitos, or at 11 or 12 at night after EG has finally go to bed. 3) I don't proofread...I barely have time to put my thoughts in the blog let alone proofread.
I don't write the blog for perfection, I write because I enjoy documenting our trips. So if you don't like all the grammatical errors find something else to read :)
