DFT21 - Days 15 and 16

Day 15 was spent in a cold Milwaukee...I'm pretty sure that it didn't get above 62 that day.  We started the morning by walking down to the Historic Third Ward district of the city.  We found a coffee shop called Collectivo.  The Cinnamon Roll was an A+.  The icing and softness ratio was fantastic!!!

We walked around the Public Market - eventually on our second time through we bought cupcakes and cookies. Went in a few shops down in the area. And walked to the Lighthouse on Lake Michigan.

We spent part of the afternoon walking around the Pabst's area of Milwaukee, but apparently nothing is open on Wednesday.  We made it a point to stop by the Bronze Fonz.  And went to the Cheesehead Factory.  Daniel really wanted to buy EG a Green Bay Packers Cheesehead, but she didn't want it.  Instead she wanted the $7 Cheese Fling AKA Foam Frisbee.

We had an early dinner at Lakefront Brewing Company because they supposedly have the best cheese curds in town.  I'm wasn't a huge fan of the cheese curds.  Maybe I'm missing something.

After dinner we drove over to American Family Field for the Brewer's Game.  It was a nice stadium.    But we were sitting in tight quarters with some SERIOUS fans.  So luckily they had a huge playground for kids!

Oh hey does anyone need some relish because this was all laying on the counter in the bathroom

Thursday was our day to travel home day.  There are very few ways to travel home from Milwaukee without driving through Chicago.  And Daniel desperately wanted to avoid Chicago.  #1 There are tons of tolls.  #2 He says it takes 3 hours just to get through Chicago.  So we drove 3 hours out of our way to stop in Springfield at Lincoln's home.  When we got there all the tours were booked.  We would have had to wait two hours to get one, and we didn't have that kind of time.  And the bookstore was closed :( However, I will say they whole area is really nice.  It is neat how they have preserved an entire block of the city.  Not just the Lincoln house has been preserved but several others.  And there were fixing another up while we were there.  So we just did a quick walk through of the block and went on to find lunch.  Lunch was just a block over at a place called Obed and Issac's.  It was really good and I would highly recommend it.

After leaving Springfield we then had a 9 hour drive home.  So we finally arrived home at 3am.  It was a great trip! Finally starting to recover!
