DFT21 - Days 13 and 14

When we woke up on Tuesday morning it was raining and kinda cold outside.  We were traveling from Fargo to Minneapolis.  We found a road that would take us about 30 mins longer but would keep us from traveling on the interstate and decided to take it.  It ended up being a fun drive.  We found a cool town along the way called Perham, MN.  I'm not sure what's there but the downtown area was super cute.  And they had the second largest quilt store in MN.  We of course purchased some fabric ;) When we stopped for gas we found some interesting road trip snacks Dunk a Roos and Krispy Kreme Smartpop Popcorn.  We stopped at another quilt shop in a town called Randall. The Quilt Shop itself was cute but the fabric wasn't really that great.  Out last stop was in St. Cloud, MN for lunch.

We finally made it to our hotel in Minneapolis and were excited to find out that it connected via SkyWalk to Target Field.  We were going to the game Tuesday Night to watch the Twins.  We had watched the weather all day and thought the rain was going to move out, but unfortunately it never did. It was cold and rainy the whole time we were at the game.  We made it until the 5th inning and just couldn't do it anymore.  But of course we had ice cream before we left.

Back at the hotel we had the best hotel room ever!  It was on the 7th floor in a corner, and looked out over Minneapolis. You could see Target Field and Target Center.  And it was set up really nice.  It was def. my favorite! The Hotel was right in the middle of the theater district and is connected to almost everything in downtown via the SkyWalk.  The SkyWalk is over 9 miles and connects most of downtown. I know Minneapolis has had a lot of interesting things happen in the last few years but it was crazy how secure our hotel was.  You can't even get into the lobby unless you have a reservation.  They watch you walk up then someone comes over an intercom to find out your name...similar to the way you have to at schools.

We weren't in a rush to leave Wednesday so we found a great breakfast and walked around the SkyWalk for a little while.  We ate at a place called the Hen House Eatery.  Daniel tried a Carmel Roll and EG and I shared Cinnamon Roll Pancakes!

On Wednesday evening we made our way into Milwaukee for the final two days of our trip! Unfortunately our car won't fit in the Hotel Valet Garage, but there is a lot right across the street from the hotel that has worked out great.  We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and it is on the National Register of Historic Places.  It is great historic building that they have turned into a Hotel.  Of Course Daniel loves it.  Its fun because its historic but the room isn't nearly as great at our room in Minneapolis.

We drove around taking in the sights and looking for a place to have dinner.  After dinner I found an ice cream place called Purple Door Ice Cream.  They make homemade artisan ice cream.  We each tried something different but I had the Blackberry Lime and it was delicious.
