Why I Love Not Camping...
The biggest fight my husband and I have ever had was over our honeymoon. He thought that it would be a fabulous idea to drive out west and camp in some of the National Parks. I on the other hand thought that it would be fabulous to lay on a beach somewhere. Preferably somewhere in the tropics, with someone bringing me as many fruity drinks as I wanted. In the end we ended up going to Washington D.C. and Gettysburg, or what we like to refer to as The Field Trip.
We ended up on the field trip because his aunts gave us the hotel room as our wedding gift. Oh and did I mentioned I married a History teacher. And all in all ended up having a really good time. Yes it was not my ideal honeymoon, but really just us being together was the most fun.
So even though we didn't spend our honeymoon camping in National Parks, I didn't get off the hook that easy. As of the last day of school we are leaving for Denver, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons.
Now I really can't say that I hate camping, because honestly I have never tried it. It's not like I have had a bad experience, but being outdoors is just something that my family never did. I took up skiing after college, but otherwise I have never tried hiking or camping. Mom thinks that I am going to end up really loving my camping trip, and I may. But more than anything though I am just really nervous about it. Has anyone seen this Carnival Commercial?
And that is what I picture every time I think about our trip. So join me as a document the planning and adventure of Dudley Field Trip 2013.
