DFT18 - Denver and Boulder
On Sunday we started with breakfast at the Denver Biscuit Co. It was good...but it wasn't Maple Tree Biscuit Co. good.
We decided to spend the first half of the day at the Denver Children's Museum. It was really fun. EG had a great time, but it would have been even better if she was just a little bigger and maybe even walking. There are lots of fun pics of her from the museum but they are on Daniel's phone :(
Sunday evening we check an item off the bucket list....The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks. It was great! I told EG that even though she doesn't remember it...no other concert she ever goes to will compare.
On Monday we started with breakfast at Snooze. Pardon the terrible photo I had already started digging in before I remembered to take to pic. Oops!!
After breakfast we drove to Boulder for the day. We walked up and down Pearl Street Mall and found some really fun stores.
We had lunch at a place called the Organic Sandwich Co. Their slogan was "Most of our ingredients come from places you probably past on your way here." It was great and the pretzel bun was the best.
We drove back to Denver and had a quick dinner at a place called Illegal Pete's it was similar to Chipotle. But we did go to Little Man Ice Cream for dessert. I mean it wasn't Cruze Farm but it was pretty good. I had Brownie Cheesecake and Daniel ate a Salted Oreo Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. And if you can't tell EG liked it a lot.
Tuesday we went to the Hammond Candy Factory Store. We didn't take the tour but we did buy Candy!
We then drove to South Denver to eat at Duffyroll which is famous for their Cinnamon Rolls. Their Zesty Orange roll was fab!
We spent the morning going in Antique Shops. And Daniel found a Teddy Roosevelt political button, from the Bull Moose campaign. It was a pretty amazing button...we may or may not have bought it...let's just say we did talk them down on the price a bit. But we couldn't pass it up.
Tuesday afternoon we went back to the house for a while for EG to take a nap and also for a new friends we met in Glenwood Springs to come see their old house.
We finished the night and our trip at a Colorado Rockies game. We didn't make it through the whole thing but it was the 6th inning and the Rockies were up 6 to 0, when we left.
Tuesday EG and I had to be at the airport by 7. It took a while to get through security with her milk and baby wipes. And she was not a happy camper when we got to the gate or as the we boarding. You could just see the looks of those around us. But I gave her some milk as the plane took off and she fell right asleep and slept for at least an hour!!!
A poor baby three rows behind us screamed bloody murder most of the flight and I just prayed and thanked God that it wasn't mine screaming!
It was a great DFT18. We agree it was much harder with a baby. But we are looking forward planning for next year!
