DFT - Seattle
Okay..I change my mind...I do still think San Francisco is amazing, but Seattle might be my all time favorite! First, the weather was perfect...it didn't rain! The city was easy to get around and it wasn't hard to find parking! There were plenty of things to do to keep you entertained....I loved all the different neighborhoods! It's easy to drive to the mountains or the beach! It was just a very chill, very relaxed city! And I will def. make a return visit!
We got into the city on Saturday morning around 10ish...and our first stop of the day was Pike Place Market. So it probably wasn't the best idea to try to go to the market on a Saturday in the summer, but hey we had to go. It was crazy town busy and I didn't get to try nearly as many of the things that I wanted to, but it was still fun to look around and see everything. We walked right down the road to a Columbia and Mountain Hardware store...not that we didn't get enough of that already, but we apparently have to go in each one we see. We also walked to the Nordstrom Rack, which was right beside the Nordstrom headquarters. I was slightly disappointed at the size and selection of the Rack considering it was right beside the headquarter store. The one in Brentwood is much better! Our campsite for the night was just 20 mins outside the city, so we were able to go set up camp before we went to the Mariners game for the night. I know it was a holiday weekend, but our KOA was pretty sketch...we had a decent campsite away from most everyone, but I def won't stay there again. The Mariners game was so much fun! We go there before the game started and got a free cooler bag on the way in. They played games in between each inning to keep the fans engaged and it was just an all around fun atmosphere. It didn't hurt that the Mariners won 12 to 6 that night! They were killing it. I'm pretty sure between both teams 10 home runs were hit in the game.
Sunday we got a little too early of a start. Most everything we wanted to do didn't open until 10am, so we found a place to get a good breakfast. And it sure was good! Pictured below is my biscuit, smothered in gravy and bacon! After a drive to Kerry Park in order to see the Space Needle, I drove by the Grey's Anatomy house on accident! We ended up in Fremont at the Sunday market, after the market we walked around Fremont and found the Fremont Troll. Lastly, while in Fremont we took a tour of the Theo Chocolate Factory! It was so much fun and we got so much chocolate! Also on Sunday we went to the REI Headquarter store and to Elliott Bay Books. We ended our day with a stop at Top Pot Doughnuts (not nearly as good as Voodoo) and with a trip to the Starbucks Roastery and Tasting Room.
Again I had so much fun in Seattle and there are so many more things I want to see and try! I can't wait to go back sometime!
