DFT - Oregon

So I only have like two minutes to type until the lodge shuts down for the night and I loose wifi....Here is a quick run down of Oregon.  Crater Lake and I have a love/disappointed relationship.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Almost impossible to describe how beautiful, but they apparently got over 40 feet of snow this winter, so everything we wanted to do while we were there was either closed or not running yet.  All the trails were basically snow covered.  We wanted to take the boat ride on the lake but it wasn't up and running yet because the dock got destroyed in the snow.  We did get to hike down to the lake and put our feet in.    I did get lucky and we were staying in a cabin, that had an actual bed and a bathroom all to ourselves, that was 2 feet from my bed!

The verdict is still out on Portland.  I am not too sure exactly what I think about it.  At first I really didn't like it.  We saw a sticker in a bookstore that said "Keep Portland Weird" and that is a true statement.  It is def. weird.  But by the end it wasn't so bad.  We ate at two different food carts while we were there.  The first one was a grilled cheese cart, but the second one.....It was called PDX sliders.  It was little slider sandwiches that were AMAZING! My favorite was a hamburger with strawberry jam and goats cheese.  I found Heaven twice....first was the biggest used bookstore ever.  I'm pretty sure I could spend forever in there!  The second was a craft store called collage....they had all the pens and washi tape a person could dream of. We did eat a Voodoo Doughnuts and interestingly enough they had a Pat Summit Tribute in the doughnut case.  We tried to talk to the cashier about it, but she had no idea what we were talking about.  And the last picture is of the Bridge of the Gods....Daniel made me drive across it, just so he could see it.  For those of you that don't know what it is...Its where Cheryl Strayer in the Movie and Book Wild ends her hike of the PCT.
