The Cinnamon Roll Chronicles

It took forever to drive to Glacier...I didn't help that we didn't leave Rainier going the correct way and added 2 hours to our trip.  But we finally got here and it was def. worth the wait and with the time added to the trip.  We made it into the park around 9:15 and had to drive the whole Going to the Sun road from West Glacier to St. Mary.  Our friend Sarah we had met in Yosemite told us that she wan't really impressed with the Going to the Sun Road....but I feel as if she must have been having a really bad day because even at 10 at night the Going to the Sun road was quite impressive.   Thursday we spent driving back across the park to go some things in West Glacier.  We hiked Avalanche Lake and spent the afternoon at Lake McDonald Lodge.  We took our time driving back across yesterday evening to take pictures as we went.  Plus we got to see Mountain Goats.  Friday's adventures were stationed in the Many G...

Such a sad experience at Mt. Rainier....I so desperately wanted it to be one of my favorite parks, but the weather did not cooperate while we were there.  When we first arrived on Monday it was 44 degrees and by the time we made it up to Paradise, which is the best part of the park and has the best view of the Mountain, it was so foggy we couldn't even see our hand in front of our face.  I had been going non stop for 20 plus days at this point and I was ready for a nap.  So I kindly asked Daniel after we set up camp if I could take a nap for a while.  He was nice enough to find a hike to do while I took a nap.  Monday night we had dinner at The National Park Inn.  It was probably one of the best, if not best meals we have had on our trip! I had buttermilk fried chicken and the beef barley soup was sooo good!  While we were waiting for dinner the Mountain did start to peek out from behind the clouds so we got to see it for a brief moment. ...

Okay..I change my mind...I do still think San Francisco is amazing, but Seattle might be my all time favorite!  First, the weather was perfect...it didn't rain! The city was easy to get around and it wasn't hard to find parking! There were plenty of things to do to keep you entertained....I loved all the different neighborhoods! It's easy to drive to the mountains or the beach! It was just a very chill, very relaxed city! And I will def. make a return visit! We got into the city on Saturday morning around 10ish...and our first stop of the day was Pike Place Market.  So it probably wasn't the best idea to try to go to the market on a Saturday in the summer, but hey we had to go.  It was crazy town busy and I didn't get to try nearly as many of the things that I wanted to, but it was still fun to look around and see everything.  We walked right down the road to a Columbia and Mountain Hardware store...not that we didn't get enough of that already, but we appa...

We arrived in Olympic on Thursday.  Let's start by saying its a strange park.  It is absolutely huge! The official park visitors center is not in the park...it's in the town before you get to the park.  You better know where you are going or you will miss it or you might end up walking into the administration offices...not that we did that or anything. We actually missed the visitors center on our way in and drove on to our campsite.  They were really nice and let us check in two hours early.  We had the best campsite in the lot and it was right on Lake Crescent.  As we left the campsite we took a wrong turn and started driving towards Canada (not that we would have made it because we would have had to cross a huge body of water, but that was the direction we were going) at this point the only thing to do was drive back to Port Angeles and find the visitors center.  It took us a turn or two before we actually made it to the right place and we fina...

So I only have like two minutes to type until the lodge shuts down for the night and I loose wifi....Here is a quick run down of Oregon.  Crater Lake and I have a love/disappointed relationship.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Almost impossible to describe how beautiful, but they apparently got over 40 feet of snow this winter, so everything we wanted to do while we were there was either closed or not running yet.  All the trails were basically snow covered.  We wanted to take the boat ride on the lake but it wasn't up and running yet because the dock got destroyed in the snow.  We did get to hike down to the lake and put our feet in.    I did get lucky and we were staying in a cabin, that had an actual bed and a bathroom all to ourselves, that was 2 feet from my bed!  The verdict is still out on Portland.  I am not too sure exactly what I think about it.  At first I really didn't like it. ...
